From our experience the perception of decaf has been that it doesn't need to taste as good as caffeinated coffee. Funny thing is, if you start with delicious ethically sourced coffee the result after it's been properly decaffeinated is delicious ethically sourced coffee. What a concept!
This is the 2nd coffee we have purchased from the San Agustin region this year. The coffee growers from this region initially got together to share ideas and form groups to facilitate the sale of their coffees. The group has always been quality focused and members currently working on standardizing practices, improving their beneﬁcio processes as well as their drying patios. They have managed to signiﬁcantly increase the quality of their coffee over time.
This coffee has been decaffeinated in Colombia by using water and ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate is a completely natural ingredient that comes from sugar cane.
We love that we can drink this coffee all day long.
