This is our 2nd year buying coffee from El Cascabel. This AAA lot is from a producer group located in El Tablón de Gómez which is a small community nestled in the state of Nariño. El Tablón has very strong indigenous influence and culture. Nariño is a department in the south of Colombia which neighbors Ecuador and the Pacific Ocean. With most of the coffee grown above 1,900 meters above sea level, these farms are producing some of the highest grown coffee in Colombia.
This coffee is sweet and tropical. It has a bright citric acidity like a mandarin and sugars that remind us of a ripe plantain.
