Founded in 2013, Manos de Mujer is a collective of women producers within the COMSA organization in Marcala, Honduras. Each member owns and operates her own small farm, and the group was created to improve the economic stability and quality of life for women across the cooperative.

Their work goes well beyond coffee. As part of COMSA’s broader women‑led farming initiative, these producers are diversifying their land with fruit and vegetable gardens and raising chickens, pigs, and cows, all with the goal of creating year‑round, sustainable income. The project also supports gender equity on the farms and throughout the community.

All COMSA coffees are rooted in the Finca Humana (“Human Farm”) philosophy: organic and biodynamic agriculture, stewardship of the land, and reinvestment into local education and community projects through Fair Trade premiums. This washed lot comes from several women‑owned farms and carries Fair Trade, Organic certifications.

We currently source all of our direct‑relationship Honduran coffees through COMSA members. While this lot is not a direct relationship purchase, we chose it for the same reasons; quality, transparency, and supporting the people behind it.
