Over the past few harvests, Shyira has become a standout favorite among our Rwandan offerings—and for good reason. Grown between 2,000 and 2,400 meters above sea level, this coffee benefits from some of the highest elevations in the country. That slow-maturing altitude, combined with rich volcanic soil and a perfectly suited climate, helps develop dense, sugar-rich cherries.
The Shyira Washing Station, built in 2017, is nestled in one of the most stunning and remote regions of Rwanda. With few other stations nearby, it has access to exceptional cherry from neighboring producers, and its location along a river provides reliable access to fresh water—an essential ingredient for clean, consistent processing.
